About

A Syracuse roofing firm with a steam crew

Sokolowski Roofing replaces roofs in the snow belt, and runs the steamer when ice dams form.

Bozena Sokolowski runs the firm and writes every estimate herself. The crew that steams in January is the same one that roofs in October, so the people who see what ice does to a roof are the people who build the next one.

How the shop works

  • One estimator, one crew

  • Tie-off on every roof

  • The same people answer the phone and come to the house

The crew

Who you will deal with

Four people, from the first call to the last ridge cap.

  • Bozena Sokolowski

    Owner and estimator

Walks every roof before she writes the estimate, and answers for what's in it.

  • Orville Hylton

    Steam and ice-dam crew lead

Runs the steamer from November to March. Works from ladders and anchors, and never on iced shingles without a tie-off.

  • Myrlande Desir

    Office and winter on-call line

Answers the winter line, builds the steaming list and sends the photo reports.

  • Anil Bissessar

    Re-roof foreman

Runs tear-off and install days, and walks you through the vents before the ridge closes.

How we work

Three habits

  • We write it down

Estimates, options and terms, in writing, before work starts.

  • We tell you what's feeding the dam

A steaming visit ends with a note on the cause.

  • We don't promise what weather decides

No guarantees about snow, ice or a dry attic.

Want to meet at your house?

We'll come to you, look at the roof and the attic, and write it down.
